About Me
Welcome! My name is Sasha Sandles-Palmer. I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor, more commonly known as a mental health professional. I have been told in various ways throughout my life I was born to help. The helper part of my personality is a central feature of my personal ethos and is why becoming a therapist was an early life decision I committed to.
I’m native to Northern California with roots in the Bay Area and Sacramento despite most recently settling in San Diego. Living in different California regions helped me to connect with a wide range of people. I graduated from the University of California Merced with a BA in psychology and Alliant International University with a MA in clinical counseling which emphasized a social justice and equity orientation to providing therapy.
My journey as a therapist has led to me work with individuals across the lifespan for many reasons. But I have found I offer the best support for adults wanting insight and a different response to themselves and life stressors such as anxiety, trauma, identity, depression, transitions, and relationships to name a few. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and interventions to address clients’ concerns holistically.
My focus as a therapist is to inquisitively explore with you the barriers that are creating resistance in your life. How can you use your strengths to uncover the solutions to your problems? What is your relationship with yourself and how can it be enhanced? These are a few potential guiding questions I ask to help clients find solutions and a path towards their best selves.
“One of the best guides to how to be self-loving is to give ourselves the love we are often dreaming about receiving from others.”
