What are your hours of operation and what is the latest appointment you offer?
I offer appointments Monday through Thursday. My earliest appointment starts at 9 AM and latest at 6 PM with the except of afternoon appointments only on Wednesdays.
What is therapy and how does it differ from counseling?
Counseling and therapy are often interchangeable due to many similarities, but there are some differences. Counseling usually focuses on a specific issue for a limited amount of time while therapy tends to address more broad, complex topics that may require a longer treatment time. Counseling typically focuses on the present and future while therapy can explore the past to help understand the present. Regardless, both are great avenues to find the support and solutions you are looking for.
What does “good fit” mean in therapy?
Good fit means there is a connection between you (client) and myself (therapist) that yields positive interactions and favorable results according to you. Client-therapist fit also considers whether there is an appropriate match between your reason for pursuing therapy and my professional and cultural background. The better the fit, the more effective therapy is.
Can I decide to work with a different therapist after my first appointment?
Yes! It is always your choice to work or stop work with me or any therapist after establishing a connection. Often times it takes more than one session to know if a good fit exists. So, I suggest clients meet with a therapist 2-3 times before making a final decision unless your instincts say otherwise.
